What is Valve Cover Casting?
Valve cover casting produced by investment casting refers to the engine valve cover housing manufactured via the investment‑casting process. It serves as the top enclosure for engine cylinder heads, sealing valve mechanisms, retaining lubricating oil and blocking external contaminants.
In our foundry, as a professional investment casting manufacturer, we can work the whole process of lost wax casting: wax patterns are fabricated first, assembled into clusters, then coated with refractory slurry to build ceramic shells. After wax melting‑out and shell firing, molten metal alloy is poured into mould cavities. Once cooled, the shell is removed, and rough castings go through trimming, cleaning and finishing.
This casting delivers complex, thin‑wall geometries with good dimensional accuracy and smooth surfaces. It reduces subsequent machining workload. The finished valve cover casting part needs proper leak‑proof performance to prevent oil leakage, commonly applied in automobile and general‑purpose engine assemblies.
