Advantages of Investment Casting for Oil & Gas Castings

(1) Lost Wax Investment Castings have high dimensional accuracy and low surface roughness. Since investment casting uses a fusible wax mold with precise dimensions and smooth surface, an integral shell without parting surface is obtained. The investment castings have clear edges and corners, and the dimensional accuracy can reach CT4~6 levels, and the surface roughness can reach Ra1.6~3.2μm.

(2) Suitable for castings with complex and precise structures, Investment casting can produce castings with complex and precise structures that are difficult to produce and process by other methods, such as various turbines, impellers, hollow blades, directional solidification blades, single crystal blades, etc.

(3) Alloy materials are not restricted Various alloy materials, such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloy, copper alloy, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, titanium alloy, precious metal, cast iron, etc., can all be produced by investment casting. Especially for alloy materials that are difficult to cut, they are more suitable for investment casting.

(4) Lost wax investment casting process can be applied to both large and small batch production. Since metal molds are commonly used to make investment molds, it is suitable for large-scale production. It can also be applied to small-scale production or trial production.
