Investment Casting Processing
Wax Injection—Wax Pattern—Repairing—Wax Inspection—Welding & Tree Assembly —Shells Making (First paste, Sand, Re-slurry, Drying)—Dewaxing—Mold roasting—Chemical Analysis—Casting(Pouring Molten Steel)—Vibration Shells— Cutting—Grinding Gate—Initial Inspection (Hairy Inspection)—Shot Blasting—CNC Machining—Polishing—Finished Inspection—Packing.
1. Design of tooling is carried out according to the requirements of the drawing design of the parts.
2. Manufacturing of tooling with steel or aluminum alloy or other material according to the requirements of the casting design drawings.
3. Manufacturing of molten molds by using a hydraulic wax injection machine or a pneumatic wax injection machine to inject paste or liquid wax into the die casting to make a molten (wax) mold.
4. Repairing the wax pattern,after wax injected, repairing the wax pattern by scraping,cutting, chipping etc.
5. Welding and assembling the wax pattern to the prefabricated wax rod (or pouring system) to form a group tree.
6. Immerse the pattern in a special degreasing liquid to remove the grease and release agent on the surface of the wax pattern to increase the coating and hanging properties of the wax pattern.
7. Shells Making: Dip the mold surface in a refractory coating (slurry) and sprinkle a layer of sand (zirconium sand, corundum sand, silica sand, etc.). Then dry and harden the shell with sand (silica sol mold shell), harden the coating in a hardener (water glass mold shell) or dry and harden it with ammonia (ethyl silicate mold shell), then take it out and dry it in the air. Repeat this process several times to form a mold shell of a certain thickness on the surface of the mold.
8. Melting the mold and dewaxing by heating the mold shell in steam or hot water to melt the wax mold and obtain a mold shell with a cavity inside.
9. Roasting: Put the mold shell into a heating furnace for high-temperature baking to burn off the residual wax, various volatile and moisture in the mold shell to increase the air permeability and high-temperature strength of the mold shell.
10. Casting (Molten metal pouring): Pour the melted high-temperature molten metal with qualified chemical composition into the fully baked hot mold shell.
11. Vibration of shells: The castings are shelled manually or by a vibrating shelling machine.
12. Cutting and Grinding: Cutting the blank cast and grinding the pouring and rising gate, and then go through other cleaning and post-processing processes.
13. Shot-Blasting: Shot blasting of the cast parts to achieve a final cast parts or for further processing.
14. CNC Machining if needed.
15. Packing: After each piece of the cast parts was inspected strictly then go for packing and delivery.
